Telescope Casual Furniture Warranty If your Telescope powder coated frame fails structurally during normal usage within 15 years from the date of purchase, Telescope will repair, refinish or replace the frame without charge, parts and labor included. (In the case of discontinued models or finishes, we will replace the item with the closest comparable current model.) The finish is warranted against peeling, cracking or blistering for a period of 3 years from the date of purchase. Not included in our "powder coat" warranty are table tops, umbrellas, terrace shells and market bases, wood furniture, cushions, slings and folding aluminum furniture. These products are warranted for one year to be free of manufacturing defects. Our steel market bases, if not properly maintained, will rust if the finish is scratched through to the metal. If this occurs, it must be touched up with an acrylic based paint.The wicker fiber featured in our Savona Wicker Collection is warranted by the fiber manufacturer for 3 years from the date of purchase. The natural weathering of wood finishes, breakage of glass, fading, staining and mildewing of fabrics, slings and strapping or the compression of cushion fillings and the rusting of market bases are not covered under warranty. This warranty does not cover the failure of furniture that, in Telescope's opinion, was caused by acts of God, accident, neglect, improper shipping or handling or by unreasonable or abusive use, and is void if our care and maintenance instructions were not properly followed. Furniture used in a commercial setting is not warranted unless it is specifically designated for commercial use as noted by a CQ (commercial quality) in our price index, in which case it is warranted from either one or five years from the date of purchase. The incredible detail inherent in our sculptures is created as every piece is cast in brass by the "Lost Wax" method, one at a time, ensuring exceptionally fine detail and lasting beauty. Our pieces are designed to convey feelings of sentiment, magic and amusement, and delight a discriminating clientele who appreciate craftsmanship 100 years behind the times... The exceptional detail inherent in our sculptures is created as every piece is cast by the "cire perdue," or "lost wax" method, dating back to ancient Egypt and refined in Rome and later Paris. After a mold is created from an original sculpture, wax is poured into the mold, and after hardening and removing the mold, all the details are perfected. The wax impression is encased inside and out with refined clay. Once the clay sets, the wax impression is fired in a kiln; the wax melts out of the clay mold, and is "lost." The void created by the melted wax in the clay mold is then filled with molten brass, which is identical to the wax impression it replaced. The clay mold surrounding and inside the sculpture is delicately removed, revealing the cast sculpture, which is subsequently finished by buffing, polishing and patinizing to give the piece its final verdigris (green-grey) or bronze lustre. This labor intensive method of lost wax casting produces unique sculptures with exceptionally fine detail of lasting durability, and which are aesthetically warm and ruggedly handsome. Each piece is cast and assembled by our artists one at a time, just as the originals were.
