Liriope - Spicata The Liriope, 'Spicata', also known as Lirope, is an almost indestructible plant for stubborn areas. Liriope gracefully fills those spots where nothing else will grow. Large, pale lavender flower spikes bloom in late summer, rising above arching, evergreen tufts of grassy foliage. This Lirope has 3/4" wide grass-like dark green leaves, up to 24" long. Liriope - Variegated The Liriope 'Variegated', Lirope muscari 'Variegata', also known as Lirope variegated lily-turf, is as it's name implies, a variegated border grass. The grassy foliage is edged with creamy yellow. It has purple-blue blooms, similar to grape hyacinths, that appear on top the tidy 9 to 12" plants in early fall. Moneywort - Golden The Lysimachia ?Golden Moneywort?, Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea', also known as Creeping Jenny, has dime sized, wonderful evergreen and yellow veined foliage with bright yellow blooms. This easy growing Lysimachia is perfect for brightening any garden. With a plant height of 6?, ?Golden Moneywort? is known as being a little invasive. Lysimachia should be planted in full sun, but can tolerate some afternoon shade. The sun will help it maintain its golden color. Rhododendron - Cloudland The Rhododendron Cloudland, 'Rhododendron Impeditum', is a compact, mounded evergreen plant with silver-gray green foliage. The bright purple-blue flowers bloom early spring on old growth. Plant in well-drained soil, in a sheltered location protected from north wind. Protect from winter wind and afternoon sun. St Johns Wort - Sunburst The St. John's Wort 'Sunburst', 'Hypernicum', also known as Golden St. John's Wort, has excellent yellow blooms that appear from June until July. St. John's Wort is easy to maintain and grow, preferring full sun to part shade in well drained soil. It will perform better in rich, sandy loams. It is tolerant of some drought but mulching the roots in the winter would be suggested. St. John's Wort is noted for its large golden yellow flowers and attractive blue green foliage. Growing 3-4' tall and wide, it is a native from Kentucky to North Carolina south to Georgia, Alabama and Texas where it typically occurs in rocky hills, limestone glades and barrens. Willow - Dappled The Dappled Willow, 'Salix Integra Hakuro-Nishiki', also known as Variegated Willow, is a small shrub that produces leaves that are variegated when they are young. The young branches grow out of the crown in all directions and will begin drooping slightly. This plant displays good winter interest with coral and red stems that contrasts with the landscape. Like all Willows, it thrives in moist soils. Prune in early spring to promote its elegant display and prune to promote variegated foliage. The Dappled Willow is a superb accent plant and it will be a focal point in beds and borders. The Variegated Willow is also used for foundation plantings, alongside water features and natural areas. Elegans Porcelain Berry Vine The Porcelain Berry Vine 'Elegans', 'Ampelopsis brevipendiculata ?Elegans?, is an elegant vine and is densely covered in small leaves delicately splashed with pink and white. In the autumn, the foliage turns light yellow. The colorful pea-sized berries in the fall change from lavender to turquoise to metallic blue, and finally to black. Honeysuckle - Mandarin The Honeysuckle 'Mandarian', 'Lonicera x 'Mandarin' PP#11083, also known as Mandarin Honeysuckle, produces lovely, fragrant, orange flowers beginning in early summer and blooming all the way through late fall. The Mandarin attracts the attention of hummingbirds and butterflies. New foliage has a copper color that matures to a dark, glossy green. Be sure to provide it a support to climb on right away or soon after it's planted. This Honeysuckle is an excellent choice for new landscapes, patio containers, or bare patches by walls for some vertical coverage.
