For best results, pinch tips for bushy growth, and trim lightly after the first flowers fade. The Cascade of Color Lobelia prefers full sun and in very hot climates, some afternoon shade is recommended. It prefers fertile, rich, well drained soils. They need to be kept well watered and moist. Plant in the spring after the last average frost date or in mild areas, and plant in late summer for winter color. Lobelia are excellent for window boxes, large containers and hanging baskets.
