Sweet Bell Peppers - Purple Beauty
The Sweet Bell Pepper Purple Beauty, 'Capsicum annuum', is a compact plant with very meaty, thick-fleshed, sweet, purple peppers. It is unlike most peppers which start out green, this one starts out purple and provides color early in the season. Bee Balm - Raspberry Wine
The Monarda ?Raspberry Wine?, Monarda didyma, also known as Bee Balm, Bergamont, Horsemint, Oswego Tea, is a clump-forming perennial that has tubular, two-lipped, raspberry flowers with dark green aromatic foliage. ?Raspberry Wine? stands at 36? high and has a plant spread of 24-36? and blooms from July to August. If deadheaded, (removal of dead flowers from plant) longer bloom times will be encouraged. Monarda needs to be planted in full sun, but will tolerate afternoon shade. Scabiosa - Pink Mist
The Scabiosa 'Pink Mist', Scabiosa columbaria, also know as the Pincushion Flower, has wonderful 2" pink flowers that bloom from June to October. 'Pink Mist' is a reminiscent of a pincushion full of pins. With its gray-green foliage, it has a plant height of 12? and a spread of 12-18", not to mention being disease resistant. It is best to plant Scabiosa in full sun, with well-drained soil and should be watered regularly throughout the warmer months to increase its overall performance. Deadheading after the first bloom will encourage repeat bloom time. 'Pink Mist' is great for attracting butterflies and hummingbirds and does excellent in rock gardens.
