Tulip - Species - Fusilier

The Tulip 'Fusilier', 'Tulipa species', a fall planted bulb, produce red flowers on short stems. They actally produce a "bunch" of red flowers per bulb. The Species Tulips are rarely planted in large masses because their main feature is their uniqueness. Species Tulips are suitable for rock gardens and small group plantings, and they prefer to be left in the ground to multiply naturally. Species tulips are the wildflowers of the tulip family, and these hardy Species tulips require less work. They are less vulnerable to stormy spring weather, and their generally short stems don't bend in strong winds. Their flowers usually remain closed through the morning or on cloudy days, showing only the outside color of the petals. When warmed by the sun, they open to reveal another petal color on the inside. It's like having two different flowers in the same space at once. Spent flowers should be removed so that the energy goes into revitalizing bulbs instead of seeds. The leaves should not be cut back until they begin to yellow. This permits bulbs to recharge before going summer-dormant. - Category: Home Family - Garden - Fall Bulbs Item: 453655980 - Tulip - Species - Fusilier

Coral Bells - Amber Waves

Coral Bells - Amber Waves

The Heuchera 'Amber Waves', Heuchera micrantha, also known as Coral Bells and Alumroot, is a gold leaf coral bells! After years of waiting, the folks at Terra Nova have produced one of the most unique coral bells that we have ever grown. Heuchera 'Amber Waves', which won the "Best New Plant" Award for 2001 at the largest UK nursery trade show, emerges with heavily ruffled golden new foliage that changes to a burnished orange as the leaves age, echoing the fall coloration of leaves on the trees. The light rose flowers that top the plant in spring create quite a stirring combination with the foliage. You will be dazzled by this new introduction and a winner of several European awards. From Dan Heims' prolific breeding program, the light rose colored flowers definitely play second fiddle to the stunning, ruffled, amber gold foliage. - Home Family - Garden - Perennials - 453265756 - Coral Bells - Amber Waves in shop
