The unique combination of these characteristics makes teakwood naturally resistant to moisture, rot, warping, shrinking, splintering, insects, fungus, marine borers and termites making it an ideal material for the production of outdoor furniture. Three Birds is committed to providing teakwood outdoor furniture of the highest standard. They accept only Grade A, Plantation Grown Teak Timber from government managed plantations in the production of their furniture. All of the teakwood used in the products is kiln dried prior to production. Their products are designed using mortise and tenon joinery with locking wood dowels. Where hardware is necessary, it is of the highest quality brass or, where unseen or internal, or where extra strength is needed, stainless steel.
